Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 – Community, Connection and Belonging

The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week (12th – 18th May) is ‘Community’ and the importance of community for our mental health is the central theme of our new Community, Connection and Belonging workshop.

Digital platforms have allowed flexible, hybrid working, and whilst this has many positives, it has also meant reduced interaction and a loss of community for increasing numbers of employees. Furthermore, political instability and polarisation has created scope for increased separation and fracturing of our communities, all of which is contributing to raised levels of isolation, loneliness, anxiety. burnout and depression.

The 60-minute Community, Connection and Belonging workshop helps people to develop bonds and connections whilst also providing practical and effective techniques to manage the emotional and cognitive pressures they can experience when feeling disconnected.

It looks at:

  • The importance of community for mental health
  • How to find community and build a sense of belonging
  • Making new connections and joining community projects
  • Emotional and cognitive support for loneliness and lack of connection
  • Confidence and self-esteem boosting techniques
